My Learning Situation

I'm loving the program, but I've never worked so intensely on my music before. It's like... music camp on steroids. When I'm not having a lesson or practicing, I'm desperately IPA-ing my music or reading the lyrics in a poetic fashion or listening to other renditions, or listening to my lessons. It's kind of high pressure. My first performance is Thursday. I'll be singing Schubert and Ives. My first rehearsal with the accompanist is later today...

I find myself pushing myself very hard because of the whole atmosphere here. It feels really good, but also very tiring. After all of the practices/lessons/concerts were over yesterday, I felt like I NEEDED a beer. All of us did. I haven't felt a need to unwind since I was still full time at the VA lol.

Tonight is our first free night. So we're all very excited to go out and explore and drink. After tonight, it will all be insanity preparing for the performances before this weekend. And then we'll be moving from Brandys to Prague proper. Will update. Should get ready for the rest of my day now :)
