I kind of have a headache. In case the title didn't communicate that.
ICCA clothes is still not bought. The girls' pants are proving to be über troublesome, and I'm hitting up pinkzone and probably a couple other places too tomorrow. Damnit. LAAF is this weekend, and outfit-solidifying is pretty urgent.
I also have to hit up AT&T because my phone is broken. I turn it on and the damn screen doesn't work. Kind of a pain in the ass. Stupid phone. I hate that shit.
What else? My roomie and her boyfriend broke up. Not Rina and Jeff. Other roomie.
I bought some stuff on impulse at Target. I'm playing with the Target stuff to avoid studying.
There's a lot of drama going on right now involving the girls I lived with last year. My old roommate dropped out and moved out. My old suitemates de-friended her on Facebook. I'm not going to say I was a huge fan of my roommate, but there's a lot of shit goin' on, and I'm just grateful not to be involved.
I thought I'd add this as a note: I forgot John's birthday this year. That's probably not saying much because I also forgot my bestie's birthday (STUPID!), but I always used to remember it. And this year it completely eluded me. I didn't even think of it until I read my Facebook news feed and he had 4378297473829 birthday wallposts from our mutual friends.
This is the randomest post ever.

My New Outlook
You know what? I'm not gonna tell him. That's what I've decided. If it's meant to be, he'll have to make the move. I've never had to initiate in my entire life, and there's no reason why that should change now. I guess I'm still a girl of tradition at heart.
Plus, that way there's no risk of being stuck in something completely one-sided. So I'm wishing myself a happy 14th month of being single right now. (I've actually been single for 14 months as of yesterday, but let's be lenient. It's not really something good to commemorate.)
One thing to change though: I guess I shouldn't stare at my feet and pick at my fingers when he's around. He must think that I'm socially retarded or something, because I never maintain eye contact with him (for fear of blushing) and I never address him by name except for when I'm saying hi.
One time, he stuck his whole hand in my face to show me some random callouses. Is that a sign?
I'm such a damn spazcase. Geez.

My Middle Of The Week
I can't believe it's only Wednesday. I feel kind of spent already.
But yea. Rubio's later today. Maybe when I've harnessed the energy to walk over to PC.
So I put on my favorite undies this morning and I'm going to try and get through today without being cranky or anything. I don't know what my undies had to do with that, but they've been sitting in the back of my undy drawer for a while without me even realizing it, and I have finally found them, so I'm pretty happy.
Oh yea. I still need to gym it tonight so I think I might have to caffeinate myself a little. Or a lot.
Bottom line: I'm feeling kind of un-energetic and I still have a busy week and crazy weekend to get through.

My Sore Core
It's been a really long time since I really did a hardcore weight routine on my core. And I feel it. Geeez. I'm just slouched in a chair right now to avoid flexing anything remotely close to my abs. The good news is that my thighs are now perfectly fine in comparison.
Not gonna lie, I may have overdone it today. Going from sporadic ab work to a thousand crunches (of several varieties) in one day is perhaps one of the stupid decisions I've ever made. And painful. This'll be a quick entry because I still have to gym it in another 7ish hours or so. So I need to sleep ASAP. But yea. Cardio intervals are my thing now. Rather than slowly withering away for an hour at a time on a friggen elliptical, I'm alternating sprints and jogs on cardio (two minute intervals each) for about ten minutes, three times an hour. Between weights and stuff.
And I'm trying to spend at least 10 minutes stretching.
Two work outs today. I'm sore. But still feeling those endorphins. Yumm. Oh... and Rina and I danced today. We're going to be just as good as Chels. Just you guys watch.
Tomorrow is a morning workout, work at the VA, some stupid alcohol seminar (Fuck you, stupid fjdkslajjksla. Long story.), and then another workout sometime after I've done some studying.
Goodnight, blog.
Oh yea... I left a few isomers out of my ochem midterm today. Whoops/damnit.

My Weekend Update
I have big news. So skip down a couple sections if you don't want to read the fluff.
Yea. Gots to study. I have an ochem midterm tomorrow. Good news is I've still got time. And I'm not too shabby at ochem.
I've also just changed the strings on my guitar today. And now it sounds twangy and annoying. I'm not too sure that I did it right because it's the first time I've changed my own guitar strings and I suck at life. But it tuned up, nothing's falling out, and aside from the atrociously annoying sound it now produces, everything seems OK.
Nicholai and I are resuming our gym dates tomorrow, and after a week of less-than-healthful eating and stressing out, I'm hoping to get back on track. With any luck, I haven't incurred too much damage. After hardcore choreo practice all day Saturday, I'm finding myself pretty sore in the thigh area. We have two very dance-heavy songs this year. But they look baller. Especially with Chelsea and Darryl rockin' out like they were born to do it. Man I love those two.
As much as I despise Megan, I'm happy to have had the opportunity to teach her. Weirdly enough. I feel like I'm finally beginning to garner an immense deal of respect from the group at large for all the crazy effort they're realizing I put in. And I got to direct today because some retard can't pick out the wrong notes in his own arrangement. Ironically enough, once I sat down with the music, I realized that 50% of the wrong notes were coming straight from him. Awesome.
Things are really looking up as far as my feelings toward a cappella go. I've always worked hard for it, regardless of how much it hurt me, and I guess now is when the comeuppance for all the times I've felt wronged by anything to do with Tritones is due. One little bitch is completely at my mercy. And one lumbering fool has been humbled by how little he really knows. I feel like a total bitch for glowering in victory lane, but it feels damn good to be on top. You know what? I am the shit.
SFCM knows it too because I JUST GOT ACCEPTED. Not really. I was accepted on Friday. A professor called my house and left a message for me, which my parents just got a little over an hour ago.
Primary instrument: piano
Secondary instrument: voice
Performance emphasis: jazz
Academic emphasis: choral studies and conducting
Majors: performance and music education
Über bitch time. But I have to say it and gloat and be a little fucktard, because for once, I have solid evidence that I AM better than that crackhead director I've beat myself up over for so long. Is your mom an Oreck? Because you SUCK. Whatever. He does. Wow. I kind of hate myself for actually typing that. But it seriously bugged me to death, and I think I may just be over it now. Finally. It's been a painful eight months. Call me whatever you want to. My ego will protect me.
Now I have a ridiculously difficult decision to make. But that kind of made my lunar year complete.
Happy new year, guys :)

My Ridonkulous Retreat
I'm actually in Irvine right now. Tritones retreat.
We rehearsed for about 9 hours today. Fricken A. I loved most of it. Our ICCA choreo is down. It's pretty baller. I wish I had some kind of way to prove that I know shit. Because the comments and suggestions I have somehow carry a million times the gravity when they're said by Northwood High's choir dude. Lame. I got some very sheepish looks today.
Darryl and Chelsea are hella baller dancers.
Right now I'm supposed to be teaching choreography to Megan, who has skipped about 15 hours of rehearsal this week, including all 9 hours from today. I guess I am, but I also have an earbud in and I'm avidly typing this blog entry while chatting with Wilmar and watching our Coti's hotsauce faceoff on YouTube. Haha...
There's a whole host of people I'm not in love with right now, but it's difficult to pinpoint the last time I've had this much contempt for a single individual.By some kind of freak miracle, my temper is still in tact. Somehow. Probably because I've tuned so much of her stupid voice out. I strongly believe her behavior merits being booted out of the group. And I don't really care. There's a reason I always write her stupid shit to sing. And stick her directly in back of someone taller than her in all the choreo. I guess I kind of figured. We sounded and looked fine today. She's extraneous.
In fact, she looks and sounds horrible.
Wilmar has cheered me up considerably with some random stuffs. I am eternally grateful to my friends for being my friends. Lawd knows I'd have killed someone long ago if it weren't for them.

My Lab Report...
is due in a few short hours. And it isn't going to write itself. But I'm still djskaljdks. In fact, I'm skipping work to write this shit. Bleh.
On a much better note, today is Wilday! And that makes me happy.
ALSO. New Rainbows because my old ones make my feet all gross. These babies are WHITE. That's right. I totally pumiced my life away before even putting them on. They're thin-strapped too, so with any luck, I'll avoid atrociously thick tan lines this year.

My Commander In Chief
Quite the inspiring man. Not gonna lie.
Call me a sap, but I want to be a part of a new era. It's a time to work towards being better. Both for my future, as well as for that of my generation and the generations of my progeny.
With that said... I guess I should put a dent in my books.

My MLK Day
I don't know why guys call it a "hang out" when they clearly know it's something else. I'm down for hanging out. I'm not so sure anymore if I'm down for being in the dating pool.
And hang out, I did yesterday. I watched Hamlet 2 and Zombie Strippers with Rick and Jon. Both movies were shit, but we had fun. So whatever. And then SarMar and Mu came over :)
Coti's was yummy :)
Blogtv ensued :)
I really liked yesterday. I'm really excited about tomorrow (what a day to witness!). And I'm really enjoying these extra few school-less hours :)
There's tons of work to be done, and I've been trailing off of my diet over the weekend, but so far as I can tell, there's not very much damage done and I'm still feeling relatively alright on the health front. With that said, my goal for this week is to super-charge my workouts with a more regular weights routine and an hour and a half of cardio rather than the usual hour. (Likely to be split into two parts.) I don't expect to lose as much weight this week, but I'm still aiming for 8 pounds by Friday. Oh yea... and I have to stretch more because I have 0 flexibility.
School is going to kill me this week. Midterms start. Very soon. Today is my mental-preparation day. Shit starts tomorrow.
I'm frickin gonna own this.

My Love For The Ages
I love John Legend. So much. I have all of his CDs. Seriously. I even have the Sergio Mendes CD that features him. And his "Live From Philadelphia" CD. And I just watched him in concert. Just by ushering for two hours. Shana and I both.
I love him forever. And nothing will ever change that. I don't care if he gets all MJ-crazy. I will always love him.
So I didn't get too much working out done... but I'm pretty damn proud of me. And I ate one nacho. With cheap liquid cheese. But whatever. That's OK. I burned plenty of calories 'gasming at the concert.
But the total weight lost for Monday-Friday is.... approximately 7.5 pounds. Awesome. I just have to keep this up and I'll be all normal again within two weeks. And ready for beach season in three :)

My Quick Addendum
Bee tee dubs. I am still freaking out about dinner tonight.
And I can feel my eye bags. No need for mirrors. Chem lab is going to kill me today because I only have half of my procedure down... hopefully I remember all that shit from high school chem lab.
And I recently rediscovered Corinne Bailey Rae. Just one song, actually. "Breathless." It's the bombdiggity.
I don't know why my mood has been all over the place today. Maybe I'm just really tired? Maybe there's just a lot of stuff going on for my stupid emotions to register.
For the record, I finally got around to doing weights this morning. 8928349178947928174398 reps of very little weight still hurts like a bitch. Dude. I better be a helluva lot lighter by the end of tomorrow night for all this frickin crazy working out and eating right.
Oh yea... and I'm totally just sticking to fluids today, which probably doesn't help my emotional disposition or my energy level, because I don't know about you, but I'd hate to be "one of those girls" who eat nothing in front of boys. Or on dates. Or whatever. But after yesterday's boba splurge, I really really have to stick to daily caloric intake shit, so to make sure I don't overdo my calories, and thereby undo any progress I've made, while still appearing not to be one of those crazy diet chicks. Does that make sense? I'm not even going to read it over.
Bottom line: maintain diet AND eat normally at dinner.
Just for today. F@ck. The things I do to not come off as 100% neurotic.

My October Incident
So in case all y'all didn't know, I got arrested for drinking underaged, being drunk in public, and failing to comply. That was October 3rd.
The incident went unmentioned until about two weeks ago, when I received an e-mail telling me that I had been written up. What the random. And I just finished dealing with the Res Dean and all that shit about half an hour ago.
Stupid shit. Something to go along with all that: I was told that my RA is afraid of me... along with half of the other Asante residents. Well... one of them has reason to be now. I'm tempted to add one of her Chinese language classes and dominate it. Sweet nerdy revenge.
Whatever. Over it. That's another 150 bucks out of my pocket. Fricken A.
What am I going to do with myself? I keep wavering back and forth. Once again, I'm half thinking that I should drop out.

My Mad Sighs
Cannot find my goddamn retainer. My teeth are shifting. I'm pretty sure it somehow got thrown away. F@ck. There goes 600 USD. And I only just got it a couple months ago.
We finished Rick Astley choreography today. I really hate some people. It's so sad. I'm pretty damn sick of being underhandedly singled out. And I was at the damn rehearsal room at La Regencia for 6 hours today because fuckin Arjun reserved rooms for the wrong damn days. Fuck me with a chainsaw. Up the ass. I don't know why I still let myself get butt hurt over stupid shit like that. But I still do. Even though my dad wrote me an e-mail today telling me that he was wearing his "I <3 Tritones" shirt today to help me <3 Tritones again. I love my dad. I'm still pretty unhappy with those tones. I'm not hard to please. Just don't be completely useless.
I'm pretty fricken vulgar and mean-spirited right now.
ALSO, I'm apparently going out for Szechuan food tomorrow. Damn frickin it. I don't know what I'm going to do about this. I'm triple booked this weekend. Dinner on Thursday with Mr. RA/AFROTC. Kung fu movies with the bestie on Sunday morning. And then Wiljam with hangout namesake plus some other dude... Why does stuff come up when I least expect it to?
Geeeez frickin piece of kill me now. I have stuff to look forward to. I'm just really not enjoying right now. Hopefully I'll wake up tomorrow and feel better about all this random crap weighing down on me.
And I don't know if I can bring myself to drop out of school. After nearly 50k and two years at UCSD, I'd live in guilt for the rest of my life if I didn't finish my degree in something... but is that any reason to stay? Just because I'm so far in already?
P.S. I had passionfruit green tea today and I'm pretty pissed at myself for breaking a super healthy streak. Even though it was half-sugar. Empty calories are no bueno.

My Big Start
Call me a quick-weight-loss junkie, but I was flipping through some of my old fitness magazines, and I decided to try out some cardio intervals. And that's what I did this morning. After waking up, washing up, and downing some soy milk + whey protein, I dragged my housemate to the gym with me.
Intervals are frickin painful, yo. But I stuck to the plan and got an hour in there. Elliptical, sideways elliptical butt-blaster pain in the ass, and treadmill. I'm pretty happy with myself. However, I haven't really been incorporating many weights into my routine, which should change if I'm going to build up that bone density in time for when my body starts declining.
A quick thank you to Ena for the solidarity and sound words of wisdom! Trust me. I feel ya on the "letting go" deal. I think we might be twins as far as that goes.
Anyway, breakfast was more soymilk + whey protein, in addition to a small portion of brown rice and lean ground turkey. It wasn't a ton of food, but factor in all the protein, and it's actually pretty filling. I'm getting used to eating less. That's for sure.
I think I'm making progress. There's no way of knowing for sure until that first weigh in on Friday, but I feel thinner, my face isn't all swelled-like, and I'm lighter on my feet. Regardless of what I weigh right now, I am better off than I was two days ago.
Ummm yea. I have a lot of stuff due. Very soon, at that. So amidst finishing ICCA choreography and shedding unwanted extra pounds like it's nobody's business, I have to do a lab report for tomorrow and study for a physics quiz on Friday. Damn frickin it. I need more hours in a day.

My Whoopsie
Yea. I totally forgot to eat all day today. I came back to my apartment after work and chem lab, and I just felt kind of bleh. My apartmentmate asked me if I wanted to get something at OVT, and I replied, "Nah, I already had..." and I was going to name some food I supposedly had , but none came to mind. I had soymilk this morning and some cranberry juice between a couple of autoclave runs. And that was it.
Soooo then I decided to cook for myself, since OVT food can hardly be so good for me. I steamed some brown rice and tried my hand at Filipino garlic fried rice. Wilmar's version! Except a little bit tweaked for the whole grain deal. And then I cooked up some lean chicken breast, which was divided amongst my apartmentmates along with the sinangang. Pretty good. Very healthy. I ate a little heartier than I had planned for in my diet to make up for a whole day's lack of calories, but I'm pretty sure I didn't overdo it. Three quarters of a bowl is how much I portioned myself, and I stuck to it. It was satisfying, so I didn't feel deprived! Yay. Props and a major thank you to Wilmar for the recipe!
I also hit the gym for about an hour. There's this weirdass machine. It's like... a sideways elliptical. But yea. Fricken weird. Hurts like hell. I lasted 15 minutes on that baby before I switched over to a treadmill. Geeezzzz.
I drank distilled water today. I was at work and super thirsty. And I'd rather not drink tap from a sink I just dumped cell-food into. So I bummed a centrifuge tube from above my head and drank a couple 25-mLs full of distilled water. And I'm still alive! Hooray.
The protein I've been consuming is super delicious yo. I mix it with soymilk and it is the biznass.
Chem lab is paced very quickly, btw. Like... geez I have to write this all up already? No love!
OK. I'm not going to weigh myself until the end of Friday's second workout. If all goes according to planned, I will have lost eight-ish pounds. I've had some really good discipline guys. I think I could do this. I think I've got this. We're on our way back to a 16-year-old Jen. Minus all the bleached hair, attitude, bad decisions, and late nights doing God-knows-what.
This is going to happen. I am going to make this happen. (Should I change the name of this blog to "Jen Loses Weight?") Haha... no, I won't. But I think this is becoming more of a blog on me ,not so much as just a student in academia, but more so as a student of life and all the learnings it has to offer.
I can haz cheese.

My Happy Day!
I was very happy today! I woke up and went to the gym with Nicholai. A whole hour of cardio. YAY! I'll be back tomorrow morning as well...
I'm feeling really weirdly sore though. Not like a good workout sore, but more like a "I'm getting sick and I can't really flex properly" sore. Strange. I hope I'm not getting sick.
The diet went well today. Plenty of protein and bunny feed. Delicious. Not really, but pretty damn healthy.
But the biggest reason why I'm happy today is because my friend got a job today! Right next to where I work! And I'm very very excited and happy :) I also found out that my old roomie from Bulgaria got into the grad school of her choice! So double happy!
I'm hoping that I don't feel so weirdly sore tomorrow, because that would suck butt. And I also kind of hope that lab goes alright tomorrow. And that I don't feel so weird at work.
ONE MORE THING. So my friend... actually, my coworker's housemate who I have hung out with during happy hours of yore and who looks a lot like Ted Mosby, is apparently kind of sniffing around. Which is kind of awkward. Nice guy. Hottie patottie. But still. I think I'd feel really weird if I went out with someone six years older than I. Even if it was just dinner. I'm not even twenty. Come on now.
I need to have a sit down with my girlses, and we need to discuss all these randomass boyses floating around my life. One quarter I couldn't so much as get a roguish grin from anyone. Now I'm a little boggled by IMs, calls, and whatnot. Funny how these things work, yea? I can't say I'm not flattered, but I'm really much more flustered than anything else.
Maybe I should turn in soon. I feel so tired.

My Crackdown
My weight. It bothers me. I weigh more than my dad. That's not saying an awful lot because I also happen to be kind of a lot taller than he is, but it is still saying something. I'm the heaviest I have ever been in my entire life. Think greater than 160, I think. Not that I have an actual scale. But I weighed myself at home and I was 158. Since then, I've consumed 5 pints of ice cream and a lot of breakfast burritos. Soooo yes. I would say I've probably topped the 160 mark.
Not going to lie, I have to be fricken hot for ICCA. Not to mention San Diego beach season, which will be starting in about a month. So given those deadlines... I have a month to drop twenty. (Or 30 if I can manage it...)
I will be gym-ing it up at least twice a day. I will not be eating any more ice cream. Or breakfast burritos. In fact, I will be drinking 3 L of water every day and I will be eating dressing-less salads and protein shakes (soy milk + protein powder). Nicholai and I both have goals to lose crazy amounts of weight (not too unhealthily) so we're in this together. RIMAC at 8 am, guys. My beloved Rina is also going to be holding me accountable.
So I'm totally going to do this. I can't be letting myself go at 20. That's ridiculous. I hate to say it guys... but I want to look like I did when I was 16.
[edit]
Also... the dude I met on Friday who I actually gave my real number to totally called and we're hanging out Thursday. Not too sure how I feel about that, but hey. Hanging out is fun, right?

My Lazy Weekend
Well, I still haven't done my laundry. It's been sorted and shit, I just haven't gotten around to actually tossing it in a machine and waiting and folding and all that jazz. I know, it's stupid.
I still have clothes... I'll be alright chilling in dance pants and a tube top for now. Ugh.
Goal for today: DO TWO LOADS OF LAUNDRY. The whites and the linens. Do 'em.
This football game is not going too awesomely for my adopted team.
I need to take better care of myself. My diet is junky and all-around disgusting. And I think it's reflecting in my energy level. I'm just so lethargic and lazy and fdjskal.
There's so much to do that hasn't already been done. It's only second week. I feel like I'm behind. But I know that I'm not really... I just feel like I am.

My Ass Kissing
Setting: York Hall; general chemistry lab; late afternoon
I don't know what's so difficult about heating some shit, adding some other shit, stirring the shit, and adding more shit, but apparently it takes some people 3 hours to complete. No data collection, no observations to record, nothin'. You just precipitate shit three times. So one hour in, I'm cleaning up, and the rest of my lab is still adding twenty mL of the second reagent drop-by-drop.
So my TA comes over and talks to me for a while. And he checks out my procedure, inspects my lab bench, and takes a look at my precipitant. And he asks me to stay a while longer and help him neutralize the wastes. So I grab the baking soda and start dumping it in the waste beakers.
TA: You're not even going to pH it, huh?
Me: Nope.
TA: How long have you been doing lab work for?
Score!
So I'm kind of a suck up. Whatever. Deal with it. The class wasn't going to be over for ages anyway, and what else was I going to do? Sit there and watch him neutralize stuff by himself? Geez.
And now he knows my name. Which is good, I guess.

My Pleasant Surprise
I know it's been a while since I've posted something nice about a cappella groups, but I'm trying this new thing where I try to put a positive spin on shit. We'll see how long into a new year this lasts. Right, Jen, 'cause that's being positive...
Anyway.
I was pleasantly surprised by how OK "Hurt" turned out. Yesterday's run through far exceeded my expectations. I guess that's not saying much, seeing as I had no expectations, but I honestly think that the music could have been much worse. Hooray? Yeah. I'm just happy it wasn't complete shit.
Chelsea. Geez Chelsea. I almost stopped singing, because that girl has got it. Jizzed my pants.
Shoot. I gotta finish choreography. And hopefully keep up in at least half of my classes.

My Mechanics & Impending Meltdown
I'm not going to a lecture on scientific notation and the Systéme International d'Unités. I have better things to do with my time.
I am going to say that I'm really glad none of my classes have mandatory attendance aside from lab. So there's no guilt trip for sleeping through calculus. And I can learn at my own pace. By myself. With no participation-docking. Score!
Mechanics was my favorite school thing ever back in high school. Ugh I'm so weird.
___________________________________________
Rehearsal today. It's going to be the first runthrough of "Hurt," the newest addition to our ICCA set. I'm happy with the arrangement, and I'm happy with the soloist. I'm not even going to bother listing what I'm not happy with, because that could be a whole other post by itself.
Truth is, I don't know what to do about a cappella. I don't know how it fits into the two options I've narrowed my path to. Come the end of March, I will have either been accepted to or rejected from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. I turned down the Conservatory two years ago. The time has come for me to reconsider that decision. Bottom line is, these next ten weeks could be my last at UCSD. If I do move to San Francisco, these next ten weeks could also be my last with the Tritones.
For the sake of simplicity, I'll assume that I continue at UCSD. Even if I do decide to stay on a biochemistry track, I don't think I can stick around UCSD a cappella for another year. As discouraging as that may be to Rina and any hope she may have harbored for next year's team, I can't keep doing this for her. She will have graduated, and I will have moved on. It makes me so sad to think that after all the years of dreaming, longing, and pre-audition jittering, I've allowed this experience to bring down a near-decade-old ambition. Epic fail on my part.
So I have to make the most of it. I have until May to decide. Maybe the next ten weeks will turn everything around. I'm kind of hoping it will. I don't know if it's just me being me, but I feel like a coward for even thinking about dropping out of college.

My Getting In Groove
So I'm back in the lab again, yo. And I'm not entirely sure why I like that Eminem song so much.
But it's strange, because I used to just do my own shit. After a whole month of not being around, however, it's a little weird because I don't really have my own shit to do. Like... what do I do? I feel pretty useless watching everyone else work.

My Slaughterhouse 09
I braced myself for the worst coming into Winter quarter. I mean... I'm not taking anything I love. Required shit and the biggest pain-in-the-ass lab class I'll ever take. I think I have been pleasantly surprised, however, to find that maybe it won't be too bad.
Winter quarter is looking up to be an easy load. So long as I keep up with coursework. Tomorrow, I go back to work.
I've accomplished my goal of getting a little more than half of my first assignment done. And I've purchased my textbooks. And true to my goals, I have also played a solid half hour of guitar, not including little bits here and there. But I have not yet sorted all of my laundry. And I have definitely not had 5 glasses of water. Not that I'm going to force myself to drink a couple glasses within the next hour and a half. I can, however, get my stupid laundry sorted out. And hang up all that randomly stacked clothes I've been meaning to get organized.
My computer arrived in Fremont today. I'm letting my dad hold onto it for me. I'd feel guilty accepting his gift, when I very clearly don't deserve it after last quarter's debacle. I'll have less on my conscience if I can manage to redeem myself (and my GPA) this quarter before allowing myself such a luxury.

My Almond Biscotti
Yea. I made some. And I'm pretty happy with it. Time to invite people over for coffee, I guess.
It's my last day at home. Yet again. I'm always making these posts. Over it.
A dear friend of mine IMed me yesterday evening, and we made a friend-date at the coffee shop inside our local Borders. Before an accidental running-into at the airport a few months ago, the last time we had talked or seen each other was graduation. But we're keeping in touch now. For sure.
It was a lot of fun to catch up with an old pal over black coffee. And then the nerdy hangout over comics. He's trying to get me into Scott Pilgrim, but we couldn't find volume one. I'll have to wait on that. I'm trying to get him into War Games because I'm a little bit in love with Dick Grayson. AND Tim Drake AND Terry McGinnis. Sucks for me that they don't exist, but at least it makes for some pretty interesting daydreams. Nightwing, Robin, and Future Batman duking it out for my affections? Hells yes.

My Game Of Catch-Up
I can't believe break is all but over already. True to tradition, I spent a day in the city with Tina and ate Thai food and gelato. Huzzah.
I have to quit procrastinating and finish the songs I promised The Ritards I'd arrange for them.
OK. New Year's Eve story. My friends and I watched the entire first season of How I Met Your Mother and pretty much fell in love with the show. I have a friend who hella looks like Ted Mosby. It's uncanny. I saw Ted Mosby and was like, "ZOMG MIKE CHANG IS TED!" but he's not. It's weird. I Facebooked Mike, and now everytime he writes on my wall I think of a smurf penis.
What else is there to write? I'm still not caught up on The Office. What the hell is wrong with me? I'm a little scared to watch because my life will be ruined if Jim and Pam do not end up together.
Oh yea... I deleted the other blog. The one where I bitch and whine about being single. I realized that I'm a little over it, and I don't really care so much anymore. I mean... after last quarter, I think I have bigger things to worry about than finally catching someone worth keeping.
Actually, I'm going to contradict all that right now. I still think my momma might have had a little bit of a point when she told me...
"Wen-ah, grades are very important. School is very important. Work is very important. But these things will not keep you warm at night."
I thought it was pretty sound advice. Very cliché slash sagacious. And then she continued...
"Is SD cold? You should bring back the blanket Auntie got for you in Korea."
I'm just going to go ahead and stick with the first part. There's no need for me to give up entirely, but whatever happens, happens. All I can hope for is that something good will turn up when I least expect it to.
So yea. That's that. I could always put that teenaged (I'm technically still a teenager at nineTEEN) love angst into The Student Account. It's all been a learning process, right?
I really want to be twenty already. Nineteen is such an awkward number. Adult, yet teen-aged. I think twenty would better suit me. I'm looking forward to it.

My First Post of 2009!
I've decided that my resolution for 2009 is going to be to have better discipline. It applies to everything.
That's all I really have to say.
Happy new year, guys! Damn fine, oh nine. (New motto.)
